Supervised Visitation Services
Safe, court-ordered visitation that puts children first.
We offer court-ordered supervised visitation in calm, home-like spaces that support emotional safety, structure, and dignity. We are the only provider serving St. Joseph County through court and DCS referrals.
Why Supervised Visitation Matters
For children, separation can feel confusing and frightening.
For parents, it can feel overwhelming and deeply personal.
Supervised visitation helps bridge that gap—allowing relationships to continue while courts and child welfare agencies assess readiness for the next step.
What Supervised Visitation Looks Like Here
Supervised visits take place in home-like rooms where families can read, play, talk, and reconnect—while trained staff ensure visits remain safe and appropriate.
Our role is not to judge or intervene unless necessary. It’s to:

Monitor visits with care and compassion
We observe visits attentively and professionally to ensure safety while allowing families space to connect naturally.

Document interactions for court
We record visits using clear, neutral documentation stating what occurs to support court decision-making.

Foster parent-child engagement
We encourage interactions that are appropriate, respectful, and supportive of parent-child relationships.

Maintain a calm environment
We create consistent routines and welcoming spaces helping children feel safe, regulated, and at ease during visits.
Outcomes that Support Reunification
When supervised visitation is done well, it supports both immediate safety and long-term family progress.
- Children remain safe during visits
- Parent-child relationships are preserved
- Courts receive clear, objective documentation
- Families move forward with greater clarity and stability
Have questions about supervised visitation?
Our team is here to help explain what to expect.
Supervised visitation is a court-ordered service that allows children and parents to spend time together in a safe, structured setting while visits are monitored by trained staff to ensure safety and appropriateness.
Referrals are made through local courts or the Indiana Department of Child Services. Families do not self-enroll; services begin after a court order or official referral.
Family Recovery Court visitation is a specialized form of supervised visitation for families actively participating in Family Recovery Court. While the visits themselves are supervised in the same way, they are more closely coordinated with recovery milestones and the recovery court team. Families not enrolled in Family Recovery Court typically receive supervised visitation through standard court or DCS referrals.
The length of supervised visitation varies by case and court order. Visits may continue until the court determines it is safe to move toward unsupervised contact or another next step.
